  • What is Open TV

    OpenTV lets you watch Live TV on your smartphone, tablet, PC and/or Mac. OpenTV is in superb quality and Medianet subscribers can register up to one FREE Open TV account to enjoy a selection of live TV channels and On-Demand Video content.

  • What can I watch on Open TV

    Live TV channels
    • Open TV brings over 30 channels across all genres.
    • Watch a selection of live TV channels you already receive as part of your cable TV service, in addition to all new exciting channels.

    Catch-Up
    • With Catch-Up, subscribers can view any content within the last 5 days at their own convenience.

    EPG (Electronic Programme Guide)
    • Check the TV programme schedule and be informed about the programme guide prior to your favourite shows.

    VOD (Video On Demand)
    • Watch what you want, when you want. Take your pick from the vast variety on demand content.
     

  • Where can I use OpenTV?

    Customers can use Open TV wherever there is an Open TV wireless connection available, such as
    • An Open TV Hotspot
    • From the customer’s Open TV modem at home

  • Will there be any streaming charges?

    • •If you watch Open TV on an Open TV WiFi network, there will be NO video streaming charges. Please make sure that you choose the “OpenTV” network from your device’s Wifi settings.

    • •If you are not on an OpenTV network, video-streaming charges may apply. For example: 3G or 4G mobile data from Dhiraagu and Ooredoo, and also ADSL connections from Dhiraagu, Ooredoo, and ROL (with B-Net Cable).

  • How do customers get access to Open TV?

    • •If you watch Open TV on an Open TV WiFi network, there will be NO video streaming charges. Please make sure that you choose the “OpenTV” network from your device’s Wifi settings.

    • •If you are not on an OpenTV network, video-streaming charges may apply. For example: 3G or 4G mobile data from Dhiraagu and Ooredoo, and also ADSL connections from Dhiraagu, Ooredoo, and ROL (with B-Net Cable).

  • How much is it going to cost?

    • The service is currently FREE till the end of February 2016. No subscription or monthly fee required.
    • Customers who wish to watch Open TV at home may have to purchase an Open TV modem (MVR750) to get access to the Open TV network. With the exception of customers who have an ROL Internet connection with a Medianet cable.

    Where to download the Open TV app?

    Android
    Example: Phones, tablets and laptops from Samsung, Sony, HTC, Google Nexus, Motorola, LG
    • For Android users, the app will be available from Google Play Store.

    IOS
    Example: iPhone, iPad, Macbook, Macbook Pro
    • For IOS users, the app will be available from Apple Store.

    Windows
    Example: Microsoft Lumia, Nokia Lumia
    • For Windows users, they can log in to the app by typing ‘opentv.mv’ on the URL of their browser.

  • Can I watch OpenTV on more than one device?

    Yes, once you have installed an OpenTV modem at your home you can subscribe for any number of accounts to use OpenTV. Each account can be used on one device at a time.

  • Features

  • How can I check the live matches of the day?

    Type 'LIVE' and send a txt message to 3300 (Dhiraagu) & 5511 (Ooredoo). You can also check decoder inbox or our social media platforms for Live Events information.

  • What is TIMESHIFT TV?

    It is a feature which allows you to pause live TV and continue watching it later from the point you paused. To enable this feature you will need to connect a Hard Disk to your decoder (except IPO-95 & IPO-95C S).

  • What is EPG?

    Electronic Program Guide or EPG is a feature that allows you to check daily schedule for any given channel from your TV screen. Simply press the EPG button to view the schedule and it also allows you to view program synopsis.

  • How to watch 2 channels at the same time?

    In the new HD boxes, there is a feature called Picture in Picture. Press PIP button on the remote to activate PIP, then go to another channel and you could see the picture of the previous channel on a small box.

  • Can I record any program and watch it at any time I want?

    You can record and watch programs later by using the PVR function on your decoder. Press record button on remote control to record the desired program. This feature will allow you to record live TV or even schedule recording.

  • Can I record any program I want in HD?

    You can do High Definition recordings only on HD channels. Programs on SD channels will be recorded in Digital quality.

  • How to lock channels?

    How to lock channels in IPO-88?



    Step 1 - In order to lock the channels first, parental settings should be changed. Press Menu > Settings > Parental Control. When you go to Parentla Control, a window will appear to enter the password. Default password is “0000” or “8899”. In the parent control there will be Service Menu Lock, Parent Lock and Change Password. Change the Menu Lock to “ON” and Parent Lock to “Block All”. Now press the Exit button twice to save the changes.

    Step 2 - To lock the channels select Menu > Channel Manage. When you go to Channel Manage you will see the channel list, from there select the channel which you want to lock and press the OK button from the remote. When you press the OK button it will show a box with three options (Move, Add to Fav, Lock). Select Lock from the Options, a window will appear to enter the password. When the channel is locked there will be a “lock” icon next the channel indicating the channel is locked. Now press the Exit button, a window will appear asking to save changes. Select “yes” to save the changes.

    How to lock the Channels in IPO-85 and IPO-95?

When you go to Channel Edit you will see the channel list, from there select the channel which you want lock and press the yellow button from the remote. When the channel is locked there will be a “lock” icon next the channel indicating the channel is locked. Now press the Exit button, a window will appear asking to save changes. Select “Yes” to save the changes.You can do High Definition recordings only on HD channels. Programs on SD channels will be recorded in Digital quality.

     

  • How to select Favorite channels from remote?

    Press “Menu” Go to “Channel Manager” Now go to the desired channel and press green button on the remote to select the highlighted channel. A heart shape will appear next to the selected channel Now press “Exit” twice to close the menu and you will be ask to save the changes you made. Select “Yes” to save the settings. To view the favorite channel list, press twice to the channel list button on remote.
